Shape the course focuses on various cross-cultural matters that have influenced the modern discourse in post-industrial Europe, the development of Architecture and Urbanism after the Industrial Revolution and the technological advancements brought about in the late 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, conditions that have influenced and shaped the built environment, analytical and critical understanding of architecture, the question of style (Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Eclecticism, and Rationalism), emerging modern movements and the impact of capitalism and fascism (Arts and Crafts, Avant Guarde, Modernism).

COURSE Goals:
Developing a critical understanding of the main challenges and changes that took place after the Industrial Revolution and how this left its imprint on the contemporary era.
Researching, analyzing, and appreciating the historical and theoretical traditions and practices of the discipline, with a particular understanding of their practice impact.
Stimulating and developing students' critical thinking and arguments in architecture and hence drawing the connection between the architectural theory and the design within the context.

COURSE Outcomes:
The students upon completion of this course will:
• Have the knowledge to discuss and critically assess the challenges and changes related to architecture after the Industrial Revolution.
• Acquire the ability to research historical and theoretical topics

PREREQUISITE: History of Architecture III- Renaissance, Andalusia, Baroque, Rococo, South-Eastern Asia, and America.
